Dual Low Power CMOS Analog Front End with DSP Microcomputer Preliminary Technical Data AD5744 FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION Complete quad, 14-bit digital-to-analog The AD5744 is a quad, 14-bit, serial input, bipolar voltage converters (DACs) output digital-to-analog converter that operates from supply Programmable output range: ±10 V, ±10.2564 V, voltages of ±11.4 V up to ±16.5 V. Nominal full-scale output or ±10.5263 V range is ±10 V. The AD5744 provides integrated output ±1 LSB max INL error, ±1 LSB max DNL error amplifiers, reference buffers and proprietary power-up/power- Low noise: 60 nV/Hz down control circuitry. The part also features a digital I/O port, Settling time: 10 s max which is programmed via the serial interface. The AD5744 Integrated reference buffers incorporates digital gain adjust registers per channel. Output control during power-up/brownout Programmable short-circuit protection The AD5744 is a high performance converter that offers Simultaneous updating via LDAC guaranteed monotonicity, integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1 LSB, Asynchronous CLR to zero code low noise, and 10 s settling time. During power-up (when the Digital gain adjust supply voltages are changing), VOUT is clamped to 0 V via a Logic output control pins low impedance path. DSP-/microcontroller-compatible serial interface The AD5744 uses a serial interface that operates at clock rates of Temperature range: -40°C to +85°C iCMOSTM up to 30 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller process technology1 interface standards. Double buffering allows the simultaneous APPLICATIONS updating of all DACs. The input coding is programmable to Industrial automation either twos complement or offset binary formats. The Open-/closed-loop servo control asynchronous clear function clears all DAC registers to either Process control bipolar zero or zero scale depending on the coding used. The Data acquisition systems AD5744 is ideal for both closed-loop servo control and open-loop control applications. The AD5744 is available in a 32-lead Automatic test equipment TQFP, and offers guaranteed specifications over the -40°C to Automotive test and measurement +85°C industrial temperature range.
