LM5026 January 2006 Active LM5026Active Clamp Current Mode PWM ControllerGeneral Description Features Clamp The LM5026 PWM controller contains all of the features n Current Mode Control necessary to implement power converters utilizing the active n Internal 100V Start-up Bias Regulator clamp / reset technique with current mode control. With the n 3A Compound Main Gate Driver active clamp technique, higher efficiencies and greater Current n High Bandwidth Opto-coupler Interface power densities can be realized compared to conventional n Programmable Line Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) with catch winding or RDC clamp / reset techniques. Two control Adjustable Hysteresis outputs are provided, the main power switch control n Versatile Dual Mode Over-Current Protection with hiccup (OUT_A) and the active clamp switch control (OUT_B). The delay timer device can be configured to control either a P-Channel orN-Channel clamp switch. The main gate driver features a n Programmable Overlap or Deadtime between the Main Mode and Active Clamp Outputs compound configuration, consisting of both MOS and Bipolar devices, providing superior gate drive character- n Programmable Maximum Duty Cycle Clamp istics. The LM5026 can be configured to operate with bias n Programmable Soft-start voltages over a wide input range of 8V to 100V. Additional n Leading Edge Blanking PWM features include programmable maximum duty cycle, line n Resistor Programmed 1MHz Capable Oscillator under-voltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limit, hiccup n Oscillator Sync I/O Capability mode fault operation with adjustable timeout delay, PWM n Precision 5V Reference slope compensation, soft-start, 1MHz capable oscillator with Controller synchronization input / output capability, precision reference Packages and thermal shutdown. n TSSOP-16 n LLP-16 (5x5 mm) Thermally Enhanced (Available Soon) Typical Application Circuit
