19-0732; Rev 0; 2/07 EVALUATION KIT AVAILABLE Power-Management ICs for Single-Cell, Li+ Battery-Operated Devices MAX8662/MAX8663 General Description Features The MAX8662/MAX8663 power-management ICs Two 95%-Efficient 1MHz Buck Regulators (PMICs) are efficient, compact devices suitable for Main Regulator: 0.98V to VIN at 1200mA smart cellular phones, PDAs, Internet appliances, and Core Regulator: 0.98V to VIN at 900mA other portable devices. They integrate two synchronous 1MHz Boost WLED Driver buck regulators, a boost regulator driving two to seven Drives Up to 7 White LEDs at 30mA (max) white LEDs, four low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs), PWM and Analog Dimming Control and a linear charger for a single-cell Li-ion (Li+) battery. Four Low-Dropout Linear Regulators Maxim s Smart Power SelectorTM (SPS) safely distrib- 1.7V to 5.5V Input Range utes power between an external power source (AC 15µA Quiescent Current adapter, auto adapter, or USB source), battery, and the Single-Cell Li+ Charger system load.
